® Terra Clean or comparable neutral cleaner thathas a pH factor between 7 and 10. Rinse with clean water then allow surface to dry. Routine
mechanical scrubbing is recommended for all surfaces having a non-skid texture. Long periods

Terroxy
® Penetrating Sealer, Terroxy® WB Urethane Sealer, Terroxy® WB Acrylic Sealer orTerroxy
® Acrylic Sealer to help maintain surface.Do’s:
Do ask your installing terrazzo contractor to recommend the proper neutral cleaner and sealer to be used on your floor.
Do dust mop your floors daily. This removes the dust and grit tracked into your building daily. Grit acts as an abrasive on
your hard surface.
Do scrub your newly installed terrazzo floor a minimum of twice a week for the first two to three months as the
construction dust is still in the air and will eventually be deposited onto your floor. After this initial period, scrub your
floor weekly or as frequently as the foot traffic requires. Always thoroughly rinse floors to prevent build-up of cleaner
residue which may become slippery.
Do seal your floors with a sealer in accordance to the manufacturer’s instructions. Typically a new floor requires a
minimum of two coats which provide a good sheen for a period of 45 to 60 days before additional coats are required. Sealer
used should be classified as slip resistant with a minimum rating of 0.5.
Do use maintenance product designed for terrazzo.
Do allow your neutral cleaner, once applied to the terrazzo surface, time to react as designed to loosen foreign matter.
DO NOT allow solution to dry on surface.Several minutes should be sufficient, but
Don'ts:
Don’t use purely surface waxes or all purpose sealers. Use of these solutions may result in slippery surfaces.
Don’t use all purpose cleaners containing water soluble inorganic or crystallizing salts, harmful alkalis or acids. Use of
these products could be harmful to your terrazzo floor.
Don’t use cheap cleaners or sealers as the majority of your maintenance cost is labor.
Don’t try miracle cleaners or sealers on your floor without obtaining the opinion of your local Terrazzo Contractor,
Terrazzo & Marble Supply or the National Terrazzo & Mosaic Association.
